Budget Development Specialist Vacancy

As a Quantity Surveyor at Cardo Group's A&N Lewis office in Cardiff, you will play a vital role in developing and managing contract budgets and forecasts to guarantee financial control and profitability of allocated contracts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Spearheading good project governance through well-established policies and procedures.
- Building and maintaining robust commercial relationships with clients.
- Nurturing effective communication with housing clients.
- Actively participating in meetings with clients and sub-contractors.
- Consistently providing regular updates on sub-contractor performance.
- Establishing, implementing, and managing sub-contractor processes in accordance with SOP.
- Overseeing sub-contractor valuation accounts to ensure seamless project governance, assurance, and financial objectives are achieved.
- Collaborating with the Service Delivery Manager and Operations Manager on pre-start planning, project execution plans, and contract engagement strategy.
- Gaining a deep understanding of designated contracts, specifications, and pricing.
- Supporting the Contract Manager with subcontractor selection, procurement scheduling, and ensuring chosen subcontractors possess necessary information to successfully complete tasks.
- Monitoring progress, submitting valuations, final accounts, and retention releases, and verifying timely payment receipt.
- Efficiently processing sub-contractor payment requests in accordance with SOP guidelines.
- Creating and maintaining detailed cost and value budget plans and reports for assigned projects.
- Contribution to estimates and negotiations for upcoming projects or phases.
- Ensuring optimal management of project costs to inform both company and client of current cost situation or any contract variations.
- Preparation of regular financial reports for clients.
- Autorisation of sub-contractor payments.
- Timely provision of accurate financial data reports as required.
- HND/HNC level in a relevant construction field.
- Previous experience in social housing.
- Exceptional knowledge of construction technology.
- Practical understanding of commonly used contract types in the construction industry.
- Expertise in financial reporting.
- Proficiency in quality inspections.
- Effectiveness in programme monitoring.
- Valid driving licence.
Estimated Salary: £38,000-£48,000 annually.
