About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Deputy Principal to join our team at the Education Authority. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of education in Northern Ireland.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification teaching experience in post-primary education, with a proven track record of strategic leadership and school improvement. You will be responsible for leading and managing the development of an effective learning and teaching culture, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the development of an effective learning and teaching culture.
  • Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement throughout the school.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to promote a collaborative and team approach among all stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local communities, promoting effective partnerships between schools and the community.
  • Manage resources efficiently and effectively, ensuring that all areas of the school are well-resourced and supported.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years' post-qualification teaching experience in post-primary education.
  • Proven track record of strategic leadership and school improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. This position also offers a range of benefits, including contributory pension scheme, generous annual leave entitlement, and access to training and development opportunities.
