About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Tesco. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the management of our pharmacies, working closely with the Pharmacy Manager and other team members to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Dispense prescription medicines accurately and efficiently, maintaining attention to detail and adhering to strict quality control procedures.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to customers on common ailments, symptoms, and products, ensuring they receive the best possible service.
  • Assess the legal appropriateness of dispensed prescriptions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Deal with clinical and legal queries from healthcare practitioners within your area of competence.
  • Respond to customer queries and complaints, escalating issues to the Pharmacy Manager as necessary.
  • Ensure all dispensary routines and standard operating procedures are followed, maintaining a clean and organized working environment.
  • Support the Pharmacy Manager and Duty Pharmacy Manager in supervising and developing other team members through coaching and feedback.
  • Maintain a personal development record with the General Pharmaceutical Council and complete corporate and departmental training.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy, ensuring you remain compliant with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • A pharmacy technician/accuracy checking technician NVQ (or similar) qualification.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician.
  • Proof of completion of a recognized training course for an Accuracy Checking Technician/Pharmacy Technician.
  • Proof of completing your annual Continuing Professional Development requirements.
