About Our Medical Ward
The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Nurse to join our Medical Ward team. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the efficient operation of the ward.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and delivery of individualized patient care, ensuring a safe and effective environment for patients and their families.
- Participate in the efficient operational management of the ward, undertaking shift leading responsibilities and deputizing for the Ward Manager as needed.
- Undertake tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Ward Manager, supporting the management and development of nursing care and the delivery of the service.
- Undertake the Duty Manager role, ensuring the smooth operation of the ward during periods of high demand.
Person Specification
Essential
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with a valid NMC registration.
- Diploma/degree in a relevant subject.
- Post-registration qualification in stroke or acute medicine, or relevant experience and competency in the area of specialization.
- 2 years post-registration experience in one of the specialties of the ward.
Desirable
- Experience of shift management and leading a team.
- Evidence of ongoing training and commitment to development.
