GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at a co-educational secondary school in Wakefield. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to adults within the school community.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the well-being of all students.
- Provide care and support to students in a residential setting, promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
- Assist students with their daily routines, including morning and evening activities, and support their educational and personal development.
- Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning and review of student support plans.
- Previous experience as a Residential Support Worker or in a similar role is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting young people.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices, with relevant qualifications or training in social care or education a plus.
- Enhanced DBS registration on the update service is required.
