Our Engineering Team
We're looking for a skilled and experienced individual to support and deputise for the Engineering Manager to manage all aspects of engineering performance in the depot. This includes fleet and environmental management, while engaging front-line colleagues through effective communication.
About the Role
- Support the induction and development of an engaged, talented, and high-performing engineering team, nurturing an innovative and continuous improvement culture.
- Work with the Training function to ensure that engineering teams are competently trained, and to achieve agreed establishment requirements.
- Conduct any disciplinary, grievance, or absence management reviews in accordance with Company policy.
- Plan and manage the maintenance and servicing of the fleet, ensuring vehicles comply with all statutory regulations.
- Work alongside the Stores Manager to ensure optimum management of stock, including accurate and timely processing of warranty claims and audits.
- Maintain depot plant and equipment, ensuring all external contract maintenance is carried out in line with contractual agreements.
- Improve engineering and environmental performance in a sustainable manner, with a key focus on improving lost miles and breakdowns, resulting in delivery of agreed key performance indicators.

About You
- Are you skilled in workforce and material planning?
- Do you have a minimum NVQ Level 3 in vehicle mechanics?
- Do you have a strong engineering or technical background?
- It would be a strong advantage if you have experience of multi-depot functions, if not, that's okay too.
