We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Counsellor to join our team at Axcis Education Recruitment. As a Counsellor for Children and Young People, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support and guidance to students who require it.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess individual student needs and develop personalized support plans and strategies to tutors.
- Engage with identified students for 1:1 support when necessary or requested by staff members.
- Seek regular supervision with a qualified supervisor and peer supervision with other college counsellors.
- Deliver Safeguarding-related sessions throughout the academic year.
- Promote and implement College policies, particularly those related to health & safety, equality of opportunity, and Safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults.
- Participate in College staff appraisal and continuing professional development programs.
- Level 2 qualification in English and Maths or willingness to achieve within a specified period.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Training in a short-term therapeutic approach, such as Brief Interventions, Solution-Focused Therapy, and CBT.
- Desirable: Cert/Dip related to working with young people and experience of providing counselling and wellbeing support.
