Assistant Project Manager

Nuvia, a leading international company in the highly regulated sectors of Civil Nuclear and Construction, is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join its Transport Container team.

This is a permanent role with a hybrid working arrangement, offering 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for deploying your expertise and techniques across the entire life-cycle of engineering consultancy projects.

The successful candidate will be an active team member in a supportive work environment, contributing to the achievement of real business objectives and assigned to live projects, including some of the largest and most exciting projects in the nuclear industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the Project Management Plan (PMP) in conjunction with others for larger projects and develop a project delivery and procurement strategy.
  • Assess tenderer costs, performance indicators, and let subcontracts.
  • Maintain a record of project costs and commitments, compare with the plan, and take corrective action where required.
  • Produce periodic progress reports for customers and internal stakeholders, including financial reports.
  • Identify and assess risks to the project and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide input for tender responses, including estimating, scheduling, and risk collation.
Requirements:
  • 3-5+ years' experience in Project Management/Engineering, ideally in an engineering, nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated environment.
  • Excellent Excel skills for project reporting.
  • Financial Management experience.
  • Project cost experience, including hands-on monitoring and reforecasting.
  • Engineering, Science, or Project Management qualification.
