About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals providing electronic assistive technology to improve independence for clients with severe physical disabilities. As a District Nurse/Senior Community Health Specialist, you will work under the supervision of clinicians in the team to support clients, carers, and healthcare professionals in using the technology supplied, either in clients' own homes or in residential settings.

Main Duties
  • Travel throughout the NE Thames Region to support clients in their own homes or in residential settings.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safe and effective provision of electronic assistive technology.
  • Support the therapy staff in the care of clients referred to the service.
  • Carry out training to support users in the use of the system provided to them.
Requirements
  • Good standard of education to GCSE level or above.
  • Evidence of recent and relevant training to the role.
  • Previous experience as a rehabilitation assistant/therapy assistant within the NHS.
  • Ability to travel independently throughout the region.

Working for NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment.
