Thorlabs, a leading global company in optical technologies, seeks an HR Generalist to provide high-quality support and guidance to employees and managers.

We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in Human Resources, who is knowledgeable about UK employment legislation and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer care and relationship management skills, as well as the ability to mediate in difficult situations.

The role involves assisting employees with their day-to-day HR needs, supporting the HR Admin team, and contributing to the creation of new policies or implementing changes to existing ones.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside the Senior HR Generalist on strategic HR projects, including mentoring managers in good people management practice and preparing HR strategy.

At Thorlabs, you can expect competitive salary, excellent benefits package, and opportunities for in-house training and development.

You will be working in our purpose-built facility in Witchford, Ely, which is just 12 miles from Cambridge, with train and bus links to London.

The estimated salary for this position is £35,000 - £45,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of UK employment legislation and regulations
  • The ability to mediate in difficult situations
  • Strong customer care and relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team
  • Experience with Microsoft software, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • CIPD level 3-7 qualification is desirable but not essential
