About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Orthoptist to join our department at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. As an Orthoptist, you will play a vital role in providing expert care to our patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with eye movement disorders and other related conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide evidence-based interventions to improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in mentoring and precepting programs for newly qualified Orthoptists, promoting professional development and growth.
Requirements
- Hold a degree or diploma in Orthoptics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Have a strong understanding of eye movement disorders and related conditions, as well as experience in providing patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
