Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Marine Designer to join our team at Expleo. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex marine systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of technical functions to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Develop capabilities to support project delivery.
  • Support the checking of deliverables and continuous process improvement.
  • Be the technical focal point of the team and build strong relationships with customers.
  • Provide advice and support to team leaders and members to ensure project success.
  • Consult on planning activities and the impact of additional scope and change.
  • Work with the Technical Authority and functional team to provide technical governance and ensure compliance with the QMS.
  • Support and identify cost-saving initiatives.
  • Develop team members to appreciate the different functions involved in project delivery.
  • Consult on training needs with the Head of Business and Chief Engineers.

Qualifications

  • HNC/Degree in mechanical engineering.

Essential Skills

  • Experience of marine hardware, systems requirements, and standards.
  • Experience in leading engineering teams to deliver complex multi-functional projects.
  • Strong engineering background for the listed capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing engineering role.
  • Marine Defence experience preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience.
