Disability Advisor for D/deaf Students

Role Overview
We are seeking a Disability Advisor to provide information, advice, and guidance to students with disabilities, with a special focus on D/deaf students.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support and guidance to students with disabilities, including D/deaf students, on campus and remotely.
- Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure inclusive practice and the Social Model of disability.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the responsibilities of Higher Education Institutions regarding The Equality Act 2010.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote inclusive practice and support students with disabilities.
Requirements
- Fluency in British Sign Language.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Confidence in multi-tasking and time managing a varied workload.
- Commitment to inclusive practice and the Social Model of disability.
Working Arrangements
The successful applicant will join a well-established advisory team working a hybrid pattern of remote work via MS Teams and on-campus work. A minimum of 4 months of initial training will be done full-time on campus.
