Role Overview
We are seeking a Disability Advisor to provide information, advice, and guidance to students with disabilities, including D/deaf students.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to students with disabilities, including D/deaf students, to ensure they have an inclusive and accessible educational experience.
- Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive support service.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the responsibilities of Higher Education Institutions regarding The Equality Act 2010.
- Commit to inclusive practice and the Social Model of disability.
Requirements
- Fluency in British Sign Language.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Confidence in multi-tasking and time managing a varied workload.
Working Arrangements
The successful applicant will join a well-established advisory team working a hybrid pattern of remote via MS Teams and on campus. A minimum 4-month initial training will be done full time on campus.
