Role Overview

We are seeking a Disability Advisor to provide information, advice, and guidance to students with disabilities, with a special focus on D/deaf students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to students with disabilities, including those who are D/deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure inclusive practice and a positive educational experience for all students.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the responsibilities of Higher Education Institutions regarding The Equality Act 2010.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote inclusive practice and social model of disability.

Requirements

  • Fluency in British Sign Language.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage a varied workload.
  • Confidence in multi-tasking and time management.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and the Social Model of disability.

Working Arrangements

The successful applicant will join a well-established advisory team and work a hybrid pattern of remote and on-campus work, with a minimum of 4 months initial training on campus.
