Job Title: Senior Pensions Lawyer

Lancashire County Council is seeking an experienced Senior Pensions Lawyer to lead on pensions matters. As a senior legal professional, you will provide technical and strategic guidance relating to complex pensions matters.

We offer a competitive salary of £52,573 - £56,860 per annum (Grade 12) for this role. Our benefits include a permanent position with 37 hours per week.

About the Role:
  • Lead on the interpretation and communication of policy, legislation and codes of practice relating to pension and commercial matters.
  • Facilitate management decision making and influence senior stakeholders to deliver an effective service.
  • Collaborate and influence with senior stakeholders including the Head of Fund and Strategic Commercial Lawyers.
  • Represent the views of the Council and Pension Fund in governance discussions developing effective relationships with other pensions pools.
  • Exercise a large degree of independent responsibility and ensure professional and effective service delivery.

About You:
  • A significant experience in a senior technical advisory role within a large and complex organisation alongside relevant professional qualifications.
  • Specialist knowledge of the applications and principles of Pensions and Commercial law.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to act autonomously and implement management decisions to deliver objectives.
