About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Linguistics Graduate to join our team at a top primary school in Barnet. As a Linguistics Graduate, you will play a vital role in supporting children with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor students' progress throughout the academic year
  • Provide support in small group interventions and 1:1 sessions
  • Work alongside the SEND team to ensure adequate support is provided to each student
  • Develop and prepare visual materials for Speech Therapy and classroom sessions
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and additional needs
  • Carry out 1:1 and small group intervention sessions for students with SLCN
  • Significantly improve stutters, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, selective mutism, and speech delay, and assist students with EAL

About You:

  • Graduated with a minimum 2:1 in Linguistics or a related subject at a Top 20 UK University
  • Experience supporting children with SEND will be advantageous
  • You are looking to gain beneficial experience to apply for MSc Speech and Language Therapy
  • You are passionate and committed to supporting and improving children with speech and language impediments
  • You are willing to complete all necessary training to support students
