About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior VAT Analyst to join our European VAT Compliance team at Amazon. As a Senior VAT Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our VAT filings across Europe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process improvement and productivity improvement of VAT compliance and controllership teams and identification of opportunities for automation
  • Automate manual deep dives through automating/fastening data extraction and validation tasks
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders in the central team to deliver impactful findings in various areas
  • Collect requirements from end-users, customers to create the best automation strategies
  • Collaborate with other tech departments to understand how automation can improve Amazon's productivity
  • Liaise with key business partners and senior management (including directors) in order to align priorities and define best in class processes to serve Amazon's employees
About You

We are looking for a highly data-centric individual with good exposure in business analysis/data analytics/automation. You should have good experience in digging deep into data to identify areas of improvement in business or operations. A successful candidate should be experienced in working with large data sets, be tech-interested, and an ability to work with minimum guidance.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
  • 2+ years of experience in data mining/Python programming/computer programming
  • 2+ years of leading a team in Finance/Tax/Corporate environment
  • Proficiency in Python (Pandas/Numpy/Selenium) and HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Fluent in English
  • Proven record of operational excellence and defect reduction
  • Strong stakeholder management with ability to seek out for feedback and to oversee opportunities for automation
  • High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • A proven track record of being an innovative leader, with the ability to identify opportunities and influence organizations to gain support and overcome resistance with data and persuasion
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Math, Statistics, Finance, Economics or similar
  • Business Analysts or similar experience in past requiring good exposure in SQL, Tableau, MS Excel and other analytical tools
