About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused individual to join our team as a Technician in the Distribution and Plant discipline.

As a Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrified rail network. You will work as part of a team to maintain and repair the electrification system, ensuring that the railway has the power to run trains, signals, and stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, at all times of the year, day or night, to maintain and repair the electrification system.
  • Transport equipment and materials across challenging terrain, often in demanding manual work environments.
  • Lead the team when required, using your skills to deliver work safely and ensuring that the team has the necessary competencies to meet our strict safety standards.
  • Be a role model for safe working behaviors and challenge any potential risks to safety.
Requirements
  • Leadership skills to motivate and direct a team for safe and efficient work delivery.
  • Effective communication skills to deliver clear instructions to the team and other colleagues.
  • Technical skills in inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques in the Distribution and Plant discipline.
  • Safety-focused mindset, consistently role-modeling safe behaviors and challenging unsafe situations.
  • Problem-solving skills to find safe and effective solutions.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills and competencies relevant to the discipline.
  • Relevant qualification, such as an NVQ Level 1 or 2, or equivalent experience.
