Job Summary

The National Patient Safety Team at NHS England is seeking an exceptional individual to join their dynamic patient safety improvement team. As a Senior Improvement Manager, you will play a key role in designing, overseeing, and delivering national programmes aimed at improving patient safety and outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of Safety Improvement Programmes, working closely with stakeholders to ensure effective programme management and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Patient Safety Collaboratives to ensure accurate, timely, and impactful reporting, and provide coaching and guidance on quality improvement approaches.
  • Work with a range of stakeholders to identify and address patient safety risks, and develop solutions to improve patient outcomes.
About the Role

This is a fixed-term contract due to maternity leave, and the successful candidate will be required to work closely with the team to achieve the NHS England board's purpose of delivering high-quality services for all.

Person Specification
  • Essential qualifications: Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience in quality improvement.
  • Desirable qualifications: Recognised certificate in patient safety and/or quality improvement science, including measurement for improvement.
  • Essential experience: Experience of leading measurable improvement at scale, providing patient safety improvement or quality improvement advice, guidance, and coaching to clinical or operational teams.
  • Skills and capabilities: Ability to identify risks, anticipate issues, and create solutions; developed communication skills for delivering key messages to stakeholders.
