Mental Health Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our bank team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. As a bank RMN, you will have the opportunity to work in various departments across the Acute Trust, providing care to patients with complex and enduring mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the mental health care needs of patients and develop programmes of care in collaboration with the clinical team.
- Implement psychological interventions as agreed and participate in the Admission Procedure to ensure smooth transitions.
- Utilize specific care planning tools, such as the nursing care plan for confused and disorientated patients, and behaviour charts for patients with cognitive impairment.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with assigned patients, carers, and relatives, and ensure clear and accurate records and communication systems are maintained.
- Support optimum patient care management, including supporting patients with their activities of daily living, under the direction of the nurse in charge.
- NMC registration.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Ability to develop a therapeutic relationship and work in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team.
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems, including the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
- Ability to present information written and orally and communicate effectively.
- Flexibility in approach to interventions.
