SEND Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Job Overview:

Horizon Teachers are partnering with an SEN school in Surrey to find a skilled teaching assistant to support students with complex needs. The school provides a supportive environment for students to learn and grow, and we seek a dedicated professional to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with SEND and be able to provide personalized support to meet their individual needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the educational and personal growth of students with special needs.
  • Work closely with teachers to develop and implement tailored learning plans.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters social and emotional well-being.
  • Track and document student progress, sharing feedback with teaching staff and parents.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as necessary.
  • Build strong relationships with students and colleagues to enhance their overall well-being.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience working with children or young people with SEND is preferred.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent) is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with diverse needs are essential.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team is vital.
  • A commitment to child safety and well-being is mandatory.

Estimated Salary: £29,000 - £34,000 per annum
