Teaching Support Role - SEND School

About the Position:

Horizon Teachers are working with a specialist SEND school in Surrey that provides education and support to students with complex needs. We seek a skilled teaching assistant to join our team of professionals who provide personalized support and education to students with SEND.

The successful candidate will have experience working with students with SEND and be able to provide tailored support to meet their individual needs.

Key Tasks:
  • Support the educational and personal growth of students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver customized learning activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and parents.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as required.
  • Foster positive relationships with students and colleagues to enhance their overall well-being.
Essential Requirements:
  • Prior experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent) is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with diverse needs are essential.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team is crucial.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is mandatory.

Salary Range: £27,000 - £33,000 per annum
