Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a school in Goole. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEND, helping them to overcome challenges and reach their academic goals.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to create a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Implement individualized learning plans and behavioral strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Assist students with personal care needs when required, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Encourage and motivate students to engage in their learning activities, fostering a love of learning and a growth mindset.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress to teachers and parents, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND in a school setting, with a proven track record of success.
  • A patient, empathetic, and caring attitude, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and research in the field of SEND.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed immediately.
