About the Role

We are seeking a Support Assistant to join our team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council. As a Support Assistant, you will work with an individual who requires support with accessing the community and gaining confidence in doing so.

About the Individual

The individual is a mother of two and her family is very important to her. She has ADHD and anxiety, and requires a Support Assistant to encourage her when she is struggling and support her appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prompting with medication to ensure the individual takes their prescribed medication as required.
  • Supporting the individual with personal care tasks, such as bathing and dressing.
  • Assisting the individual with nutrition, including making healthy and balanced food plans and accessing food provisions.
  • Encouraging and supporting the individual in maintaining a habitable home, including ensuring out-of-date or expired food is discarded.
  • Providing support with budgeting and finances to help the individual manage their financial affairs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be friendly and supportive, with the ability to encourage and motivate the individual when they are struggling. You will also need to be able to break down tasks into manageable steps and help the individual set realistic goals and targets.
