Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Manager to join our team at the Smart Energy Code (SEC) Company. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving and establishing best-in-class corporate communications practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies to target audiences, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging and communications.
  • Support and contribute to thought leadership on policy, regulatory, and code changes to the smart metering arrangements and key policy and regulatory reforms.
  • Proactively work with the SECCo Executive team to produce regular and ad-hoc communications on policy, market, technical, and operational matters for external audiences.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with key industry players, government bodies, regulatory authorities, and media.
  • Contribute to building the company's culture and unique identity, embedding its values in everyday activities and initiatives.
  • Manage and coordinate a team to deliver on corporate and communications objectives and KPIs.

Requirements

  • Superior communication abilities to assemble complex ideas, issues, and observations into clear and simple explanations.
  • All-round experience in communications strategy development and creating senior-level communications, both written and oral.
  • In-depth awareness and experience of stakeholder management processes and tools.
  • Good understanding of the GB energy industry, energy-related policies, regulation, and codes, and the broader decarbonization agenda.
  • Proactive, positive, open-minded attitude; experience in using publishing software and tools; willingness to learn.
