Job Description

A Sales Executive role has arisen to work with Freight Personnel, a leading Air Cargo and Express Wholesaler company. The Sales Executive will be based from home, covering the West Midlands, Mid-Wales, and South West area, with a focus on Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Worcester, Gloucester, and Bristol. The role involves conducting daily sales visits to clients, promoting the company's products and tariffs, and targeting new customers and new business from existing clients. The Sales Executive will need to work on their own initiative and be a self-starter, with a background in Airline, Air Freight Forwarding, International Courier, or GSA experience essential. The Sales Executive will have the support of a sales coordinator based in Manchester and Heathrow, who will make appointments and provide admin support. The territory covers the entire Midlands and South West area. Key responsibilities include conducting external sales visits, making telesales calls, securing new business, resolving customer service issues, and providing feedback via internal reporting. The Sales Executive will also be responsible for monitoring and reviewing business levels from assigned customer bases, following up new or lost business, and processing credit applications. Essential skills include sales experience, preferably within the Airfreight Industry, ability to discuss and negotiate complex issues, good interpersonal skills, and a high degree of initiative and self-sufficiency. A full, clean driving license is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct external sales visits
  • Make telesales calls
  • Secure new business throughout the entire product range
  • Resolve any customer service issues arising and delegate where necessary
  • Provide feedback via internal reporting relating to market rates, volume levels, competitor activities & service levels
  • Monitor and review business levels from assigned customer base and follow up new or lost business in a timely manner
  • Process and follow up credit applications in a timely manner
  • Maintain assigned customer database/mailing list
  • Administrative tasks as required
  • Participation in special events
  • Undertake special tasks when required
