We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to patients with acute medical needs.

About the Role

This role involves delivering patient-centered care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and effective assessments, treatments, and care plans. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to rotate between the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and Acute Assessment Unit (AAU), gaining valuable experience and skills in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, gathering vital signs, medical history, and other relevant clinical information.
  • Perform initial triage to prioritize care based on patient needs, working with the team to address urgent requirements.
  • Develop individualized care plans, following evidence-based practice and trust protocols.

As a registered nurse in this role, you will be expected to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, document assessments, care plans, treatments, and observations. You will also be responsible for administering medications and carrying out other clinical interventions as prescribed.

Requirements
  • NMC registration with current PIN
  • 6 months post-registration experience in an acute trust
  • Clinical competencies: Venepuncture/Cannulation/Male re-catheterisation
