Education Support Assistant

We are seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support Post 16 students in secondary schools in South Shields. The successful candidate will provide guidance and support to students, helping them with their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons to Post 16 students.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
  • Help with lesson planning and preparation.
  • Support students with their academic progress and well-being.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • A recent graduate with a strong academic background.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.

Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
