About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Infection Prevention and Control Specialist to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Infection Prevention and Control Team, you will play a vital role in reducing the risks of healthcare-associated infections and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of infection prevention and control strategies to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Provide clinical advice, leadership, and support to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control issues.
  • Investigate and resolve healthcare-associated infection incidents, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines related to infection prevention and control.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards and guidelines.
  • Develop and deliver education and training programs to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control best practices.
Requirements
  • 2 years' post-registration experience in an acute trust setting.
  • 1st-level registered nurse/midwife qualification.
  • Relevant teaching experience.
  • Diploma-level healthcare qualification.
  • Prepared to undertake a recognized diploma/degree infection prevention and control qualification.
