Job Title: Lighting Design Manager

Job Summary:

Responsible for the overall success of the lighting design department, providing technical guidance and support to ensure the company's design and commercial commitments are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement lighting design strategies to meet business objectives.
  2. Provide technical advice and support to internal and external customers.
  3. Manage and review the work of freelance lighting designers.
  4. Conduct site surveys and customer meetings as required.
  5. Liaise with customers directly on their project product requirements.
  6. Manage all product data required for information and quotation purposes.
  7. Ensure compliance with industry and segment guidelines, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  8. Maintain accurate records and CRM software.
  9. Assist with design reviews for new products and maintain company website.
  10. Increase efficiency and service levels via ongoing maintenance and development of software packages.

Specific Tasks:

Daily:
Update CRM software with customer interactions and answer customer lighting queries.

Monthly:
Proactive technical report of activity, performance, data, and updates.

Annually:
Review technical software requirements and renew licenses, and review and analyze lighting and product design requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant lighting industry experience with team management and technical and commercial submissions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current British and European Standards relating to lighting.
  • High level of technical knowledge relating to lighting products and associated components.
  • Excellent working knowledge of CAD, light planning software, and BIM.
  • Good planning and problem-solving skills.
