Job Title: Lighting Design Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lighting Design Manager to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our lighting design department and providing technical advice and support to help us make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic, technical, and lighting design guidance to ensure that our design and commercial commitments are met.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure sound lighting design decisions are made.
- Provide lighting design support to both internal and external customers.
- Identify and capitalize on commercial opportunities through enhanced technical competence.
- Develop and provide lighting calculations and designs on behalf of internal and external customers.
- Support lighting payback calculations (ROI) on a project-by-project basis to meet customer expectations.
- Conduct site surveys and customer meetings as required.
- Liaise with customers directly on their project product requirements.
- Manage product data required for information and quotation purposes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry and segment guidelines, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records (CRM).
- Contribute to a positive attitude that promotes a culture of growth through sales across the business.
- Assist with design reviews for new products as required.
- Support the maintenance of our company website (providing datasheets and LDT files).
- Improve efficiency and service levels both internally and externally through ongoing maintenance and development of Microsoft Dynamics and other suitable software packages.
- Maintain and protect company assets, including phone, computer, and other equipment issued to employees.
- Manage and review responsibilities with Freelance Lighting Designers.
Specific Tasks:
Daily:
Update CRM software with all customer interactions and respond to customer lighting queries.
Monthly:
Prepare a proactive technical report of activity, performance, data, and updates.
Annually:
Review technical software requirements and renew licenses as necessary. Analyze lighting and product design requirements for the year.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant lighting industry experience with team management and technical and commercial submissions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current British and European Standards relating to lighting.
- High level of technical knowledge relating to lighting products and associated components.
- Excellent working knowledge of CAD, light planning software (Dialux or Relux), and BIM.
- Good planning and problem-solving skills.
