About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bioinformatics Scientist to join our team at Illumina. As a key member of our scientific function, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing bioinformatic solutions to support our product development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop bioinformatics projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Design and develop novel tools and pipelines to analyze and interpret large datasets.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of a comprehensive strategy for assessing quality of data from novel technologies.
  • Represent bioinformatics in R&D projects across multiple sites, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Develop and mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and promote a culture of excellence.
Requirements
  • Strong programming skills and experience with at least one programming language, such as Python or R.
  • Familiarity with next-generation sequencing technologies and data analysis.
  • Experience with data visualization and statistical concepts.
  • Unix/Linux environment experience, including shell scripting and High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster usage.
  • Strong effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
