Job Description

BOC UK & Ireland is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead the development and execution of commodity strategies within an assigned business unit.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic sourcing and procurement, with experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned with the business unit's overall strategy and priorities.
  • Lead and manage a small team responsible for the commodities across the aligned business unit.
  • Partner with the business unit to align the sourcing strategy with the business unit's needs and priorities.
  • Manage key supplier relationships and maximize supplier productivity across both hard and soft savings.
  • Stay abreast of the supplier market outlook, innovation, products, and pricing, and use this knowledge to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in a similar level senior/management procurement role within a large national or global company.
  • Educated to degree level (MSc/MBA) or equivalent, or a CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualification.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a large networked international company.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to develop positive working relationships both internally and externally.
  • High level of self-motivation, tenacity to drive and deliver results in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent level of commercial and business acumen, with an understanding of the nature of our products and services.
