The Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transportation and Production Coordinator to join our team at The Recruitment Co. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating daily transportation routes, managing driver schedules, and ensuring seamless communication between production, customers, and drivers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing efficient transportation routes and schedules to meet customer demands.
  • Coordinating with production teams to ensure smooth workflows and schedules, minimizing delays and maximizing productivity.
  • Managing site paperwork and maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Providing exceptional customer service, communicating effectively with customers and drivers to ensure timely updates and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Overseeing vehicle maintenance, performing regular checks, and ensuring drivers adhere to safety protocols.
  • Managing driver working hours, logs, and legal compliance, ensuring accurate records and minimizing administrative burdens.
  • Processing orders and collections through our database, ensuring timely updates to customers and maintaining accurate records.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with third-party hauliers, ensuring efficient operations and KPI adherence.
  • Organizing product transfers between sites, ensuring seamless logistics and minimizing disruptions.
  • Preparing and delivering monthly customer reports and internal management updates, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.

You will also provide support to the accounts department during month-end closures and handle some order placement and data input responsibilities.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in B2B customer service and a strong understanding of business operations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures meticulously, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to perform under pressure, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with SAGE Accounts is a plus but not required.
  • A team player who is reliable, responsible, and proactive, with excellent communication skills for managing relationships with drivers, customers, and third-party partners.
