Clinical Psychologist in Paediatric Psychology Service

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Paediatric Psychology Service in North Devon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological care to children and young people experiencing significant and complex mental health difficulties and their families.
The successful candidate will have a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent, with post-qualification specialist therapy/assessment training relevant to children and young people. They will also have experience of working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers, including using goal-based care and routine outcome measures in practice.
The Paediatric Psychology Service aims to support children and young people to manage the psychological impact of living with a physical health diagnosis as part of their paediatrician-led care. Key objectives include reduced levels of distress associated with the medical condition and/or treatment, adjustment to living with a health condition, improved quality of life and collaborative working to improve treatment adherence and active participation in health management.
The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and across agencies, with experience of working with a range of children and young people with complex needs. They will also have experience of undertaking specialist psychological assessments and providing evidence-based interventions, with the ability to work with complex needs and undertake risk assessments.
The role will involve providing teaching and training, as well as experience of safeguarding children and ensuring the safety of young people in partnership with other agencies as appropriate. The successful candidate will also have experience of managing and processing emotionally distressing information, seeking support as required.
