Autism Education Support Specialist

This Behaviour Teaching Assistant position is ideal for a Psychology or Criminology graduate, or an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to expand their expertise in Special Educational Needs and Behaviour.
The school focuses on alternative forms of education, incorporating arts, crafts, outdoor activities, and cooking into the curriculum. As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children aged 11-16, supporting their emotional well-being and helping them manage challenging behaviour.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and behaviour challenges.
- Helping maintain a positive classroom environment and ensuring students stay focused and on task.
- Collaborating with teaching staff to develop and implement individualised support plans.
Requirements:
- Degree in Psychology or Criminology, or equivalent experience as a Teaching Assistant.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Salary: £80-£90 per day, providing a competitive daily rate for this long-term contract until July 2025.
