Senior SQL DBA – Critical Database Support

This global software company relies on their internal database estate for 24/7/365 operations. Ensuring data availability, security, and ongoing development is crucial for business continuity.

We seek a Senior SQL DBA to provide high-level database support, analyze MI reports, and work closely with Development and Server teams to deploy best database solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure all databases are maintained to the highest level
  2. Implement robust backup and restore procedures
  3. Collaborate with teams to deploy optimal database solutions
  4. Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises and provide database support as needed
  5. Report DR issues to relevant departments
  6. Ensure databases meet SLAs
  7. Monitor databases using approved tools and review/test regularly
  8. Create and distribute MI reports within deadlines

Requirements:

  1. Strong self-sufficiency and initiative in database projects
  2. Practical experience in monitoring and tuning databases for high availability
  3. Good working knowledge of T-SQL and stored procedures/views
  4. Application deployment, configuration, and management
  5. Practical experience in managing MS SQL database security
  6. Knowledge of SSRS 2008/R2/2012/R2/2014, deployment, and support
  7. Reporting services
  8. Implementing, configuring, and administering Data Warehouse
  9. Performing scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities
  10. Staff development and knowledge transfer
