About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Estate Manager to join our team at Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. As an integral part of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring our buildings meet the needs of a modern and high-performing emergency service.

The successful candidate will have experience in managing property-related projects and programs, with excellent communication and leadership skills. They will lead a highly motivated team and play a key role in delivering our 10-year Strategic Asset Investment Programme.

Our estate consists of 17 buildings ranging from modern tri-service blue-light bases to aging fire stations and training facilities. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across RBFRS and with external agencies to ensure effective management and development of our estate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing the Estates Function which includes Facilities Management and Property Capital Projects.
  • Delivering Capital Projects as described in the Fire Authority's Strategic Asset Investment Framework (SAIF).
  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and processes for estate management.
  • Reporting to the Head of Assets and deputizing when required.
  • Collaborating with internal departments and external agencies on estates and facilities management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Formal degree qualification in a property, construction, or facilities related profession.
  • Experience in delivering property-related projects and programs successfully.
  • Ability to manage effective working relationships with external contractors and internal departments.
