Job Summary:

Thomas Thor is seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Engineer to join our team as a Fault Studies Engineer - Deterministic Safety Analysis. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of fault studies and support the submission of safety cases for the Holtec SMR-300+ small modular reactor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct electrical engineering assessments of power plant systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to enhance team and individual technical skills, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including nuclear regulators, to communicate complex technical information and defend reactor design positions.
  • Actively contribute to a project-driven engineering team, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of fault studies principles, light water moderated reactors, and thermal hydraulic behavior under steady state and transient conditions.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a project-driven engineering team, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
