Job Title: Special Education Support Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Support Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a Special Education Support Assistant, you will work closely with our lead teacher to provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism. Your role will involve helping students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene, as well as supporting their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
- Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
- Support students in their academic and social development.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.

Requirements:

- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs and challenging behaviours.
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours.
