About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Dornan. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial and contractual aspects of our projects are managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Player: Collaborate with our team to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Scope of Work: Take ownership and responsibility for defined scope of work, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate diligence and professionalism in all works and tasks undertaken.
  • Measurement and Estimation: Measure from plan drawings and isometrics to produce fully priced detailed bills of quantities, including labour hours and material costs.
  • Cost Tracking: Track costs and labour throughout the project, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Project Hours Spent v's Earned: Monitor and track the Project Hours Spent v's Earned schedule.
  • Construction Take Off: Carry out full construction take off, prepare construction cost plan, and track costs and labour efficiency throughout the project.
  • Presentations: Present take offs in a clear and coherent format, understanding NRM2 requirements and procedures.
  • CCS Submissions: Provide timely and accurate CCS submissions each month.
  • Valuation and Certification: Prepare timely and accurate assessments/payment certs/payless notices for sub-contractors each month, understanding payment conditions within the Construction Act.
  • Cash Flow Submissions: Produce timely and accurate cash flow submissions each month.
  • Final Account: Ensure the final account is agreed within specific project timeline.
  • Third-Party Claims: Ensure the Company will not be exposed to launch 3rd party claims.
  • Subcontract Packages: Prepare subcontract packages for procurement, agree contracts, and manage through to final account.
  • Personal Development: Strive to get a comprehensive understanding of tasks assigned, why they are important, and how they fit into the overall project.
  • RICS Competencies: Research into the RICS competencies and actively work towards development in these areas.
  • Feedback and Improvement: Request regular feedback from the senior QS regarding tasks completed and focus on continuous improvement by actively seeking out and requesting opportunities to work on tasks that will aid development.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience working in a similar role.
  • Pre-Fabrication Experience: Experience working in a Pre fabrication role would be of major benefit.
  • Qualifications: Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
