Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Pertemps Newcastle is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting students with SEN, including those with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Leading small group activities and ensuring students complete assigned tasks
  • Providing tailored assistance to meet individual students' learning requirements
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and working with the teacher to address behavioural and emotional challenges
  • Delivering SEN interventions and providing feedback to students
  • Assisting in the implementation of lesson plans and supporting testing/assessments
  • Monitoring student progress and communicating effectively with the teaching team
Requirements:
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
  • Experience working with SEN students, including those with EHCPs
  • Solid understanding of statutory requirements for safeguarding, SEN support, and health and safety
  • Effective behaviour management skills
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car
