About Network Rail

We are a leading transportation provider in the UK, operating a vast network of railways that serve millions of passengers and freight users every day. Our service has a significant impact on communities and businesses across the country, and we strive to become more efficient as we enhance, maintain, and operate our network.

Our passengers and freight users are at the heart of everything we do. We help connect people to their friends and families and get goods to their destination safely and efficiently. As a Senior Asset Engineer with us, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our railway infrastructure.

The Wales & Western region is one of the largest and most varied portfolios of coastal assets in the UK, with over 8000 assets including 3300 bridges and 54 viaducts. Our ambition to be responsive to passengers and freight users drives us every day, and we're empowered to do the right thing for those who use the rail network.

In this role, you will lead the Wales Examinations & Maintenance team for at least 18 months. At completion of secondment, depending on performance and skill alignment, the secondment may be made permanent as a Senior Asset Engineer (note all Senior Asset Engineers have the same job description).
