Job Title: Financial Controller

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Crew Clothing Head Office. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the month-end cost accrual process, including preparation of month-end postings, analysis of performance against budget and last year, balance sheet reconciliations, and balance sheet review.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Take ownership and responsibility for key account lines within the P&L, ensuring understanding of balances and accuracy of reporting;
  2. Ensure all month-end cost journals are calculated and processed accurately and on a timely basis for key account lines within the P&L;
  3. Explain variances compared to budget and last year;
  4. Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis, investigate and resolve any variances on a timely basis;
  5. Manage the Fixed Asset Register, including reporting on CAPEX vs budget and liaising with business stakeholders;
  6. Assist in Intercompany reconciliations;
  7. Assist in year-end audit;
  8. Provide daily and weekly sales reporting, working alongside other finance team members to ensure accuracy and delivery;
  9. Support commercial analysis across sales, costs, and profitability;
  10. Build relationships and business partner across the business to enable a mutual understanding of financial impacts and projections;
  11. Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis, reviewing and redesigning reporting as needed to ensure value-add outputs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified or Part-qualified and studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all outputs
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work well within finance and across the business at all levels
  • Pro-active
  • Team player but ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to varying deadlines
  • Good analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Good time management and organisation
  • Flexible in working hours, particularly at month-end
  • View to improve procedures, including shortening month-end, improving systems and processes where appropriate
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude to work
  • Keen to learn and take on more responsibility
