Main Purpose/Objectives of RoleThe UK Financial Control team plays a critical role in ensuring the financial governance of the FT Group's UK-registered legal entities. This includes:
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and FT policies.
- Ownership of indirect tax accounting processes for UK-registered legal entities and associated reconciliation processes.
- Partnership with Commercial Finance and the wider Finance team to provide assurance over risk areas and ensure the proper functioning of accounting processes.
- Participation in corporate development projects, including acquisition due diligence, group reorganisations, and liquidations.
- Review and approval of payment batches prepared by the Accounting Services team.
- Collaboration with teams across Finance to ensure a clean, supported balance sheet for UK legal entities.
- Providing accounting advice under UK GAAP (FRS 101) to the wider Finance team.
- Assisting with ad hoc projects as instructed by the UK Financial Controller.
We are seeking a qualified accountant with a strong technical understanding of UK GAAP/IFRS and experience in a similar role or a background in practice. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial acumen, the ability to work to demanding deadlines, and good interpersonal skills.
