About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled SEN Mathematics Teacher to join our team at an SEN school in Birmingham.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with special educational needs, and a strong passion for making maths accessible and enjoyable for all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver maths lessons that cater to the individual needs of SEN students
  • Implement effective teaching strategies to support students with varying learning difficulties, including dyscalculia and autism spectrum disorders
  • Collaborate with the SENCo, teaching assistants, and colleagues to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary to ensure success

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Mathematics or related field
  • Experience teaching Mathematics to students with SEN
  • Strong knowledge of maths teaching strategies for SEN students
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN education
