About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Severn Trent Water. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing technical solutions for Mains Renewal programmes.

As a Design Engineer, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand project scope and agree on design assessment and completion milestones. You will also support projects from inception through to construction, ensuring adherence to design standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct feasibility evaluations and assessments for Mains Renewal programmes within required timescales and agreed feasibility budgets.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand project scope and agree on design assessment and completion milestones.
  • Support projects from inception through to construction, ensuring adherence to design standards and best practices.
  • Capture and assess operational risks, undertake proactive risk management, and maintain risk registers.
  • Carry out CAD drawings, contribute to post-project reviews, and act as a mentor for assistant design engineers.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of engineering design to assist with the development of innovative solutions with a focus on affordability & efficiency.
  • Experience implementing CDM regulations within the design process.
  • Experience working with systems such as CAD Autodesk or similar.
  • Desirable experience within the water sector.
  • Full U.K driving license.
