This role plays a vital part in empowering individuals on public assistance to acquire the skills and strategies necessary to secure employment and achieve self-sufficiency. The successful candidate will work closely with public assistance recipients to identify their employability strengths, schedule them for suitable activities, and manage their weekly hours by updating the Department of Human Services' System.
Main Responsibilities- Provide targeted support to individuals receiving public assistance, tailoring services to meet their unique needs.
- Evaluate the skills and abilities of individuals and determine suitable assignments based on their case type and required participation hours.
- Conduct group orientations to explain processes and programs, ensuring participants understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Conduct individual assessments, schedule appropriate activities, create referrals, and record detailed notes in the Department of Human Services' System.
- Complete detailed paperwork, make necessary copies, and submit within a timely manner, maintaining accurate records.
- Work with customers to develop a comprehensive employment plan, preparing them for employment and training opportunities.
- Offer guidance and advice to job seekers on the job search process and occupational choices, considering the local labor market.
- Undertake additional tasks and special projects as required, contributing to the organization's goals.
- High school diploma with four years' experience in a related field or equivalent, or an Associate's degree with two years related experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Familiarity with community services and resources available to assist individuals.
- Experience in working with diverse populations in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team to achieve organizational goals.
- Excellent time management skills to complete paperwork and data maintenance promptly.
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Acts in a manner that supports and embraces the organization's vision to integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility into daily operations.
Salary Range: $42,900-$47,775 annually
