About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Waste Recycling Officer to join our team at Biffa plc. in Edinburgh Airport. As a key member of our waste management team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Account Director and improving the efficiency of recycling and waste management at our customer site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collection and Transportation: Collect and transport waste from landside waste holding areas to the waste yard, ensuring a safe and efficient process.
- Waste Sorting and Processing: Sort and process various waste streams, minimizing contamination and reporting any abnormalities.
- Compaction and Baling: Operate waste compactors and baler machines to produce high-quality bales, with machinery training provided.
- Site Maintenance: Maintain the overall cleanliness of the waste area and waste holding areas, ensuring containers are neatly aligned and waste is stored correctly.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Perform various tasks as required, including waste audits, confiscated waste disposal, and replacing signage/labels on containers.
